The project started in 2017 and was completed in September 2020. As the Park Hyatt Auckland Hotel was designed to be the highest level of luxury accommodation in New Zealand, the finishing details were crucial and so were closely scrutinised.

Design changes were the most challenging part of this project, especially when these changes came through after the work had already been completed. But with our dedicated workforce and experienced site management team we could adapt and respond quickly to these changes, delivering top-quality finishes while still catching up to the handover dates.

This was possible due to our large team (170 staff on site at peak) always operating to our safe and efficient work methods. This work was completed under the joint management of the two main contractors: Hawkins and China Construction.

The project comprised a seven-storey building with a total floor area of 29,000 square metres, including 195 rooms, food and beverage outlets, event spaces, spa, fitness centre and a 25 metre pool.
